RAY BINDER TELLS OF
CHASING HUNS BUT
COULDN’T CATCH ’EM

Postmaster Binder, received a letter yesterday from his son, Raymond who is with Battery C, 308th Field Artillery, stating that they had been chasing the Germans for more than a week, but had, on only one instance, succeeded in catching up with them. The letter was dated November 14, three days after the signing of the armistice. This would indicate that the many local boys in the 307th and 308th Regiments were fortunate in escaping the heavy casualties at the close of the war. Ray writes that all sorts of rumors are being circulated as to when they are coming home, but adds that it is impossible to say just when this will occur.
